Nursery & Secondary Schools
Children come to Stramongate from a number of different providers. We believe that it is vital that we have close links in order to ensure that transfer from Nursery to our Reception class is as smooth and positive for the children as possible.
Although the children may be a bit bigger in Year 6 the same principle is true. In order to make transfer from Primary to Secondary positive we work very closely with our Secondary colleagues:

Primary Schools
All the primary schools in the Kendal area believe it is important that we work together to share good practice and give all our children excellent learning opportunities. We are all different but we all want to work together to enrich our children's learning. Below are the school sites in our primary partnership.

Training Schools
In Spring 2004 Stramongate along with Heron Hill and Ghyllside, were awarded Training School Status by the Department of Education. The three schools will work together to support teacher training, to improve teacher development and provide training for teaching assistants.
All of the work in the Training school will support work in the classroom and improve children's learning.
We are delighted to b working closely with our partners in Heron Hill and Ghyllside and feel privilege to be able to make a contribution to teaching and learning across South Lakeland
Local Community & Sponsors
As a school we have developed strong community links. These links are used to develop children's understanding of the outside world and also show the schools contributions to the community.

- Lakeland Ltd Windermere-support a range of initiatives in the school.
- Sharps Driveways Endmoor- produced our super new maths trail.
- St Georges Church /Sandylands Methodist Church- hosts our Christmas carol service and ministers regularly attend assemblies.
- Kendal Town Council Town Hall Kendal- hosted our Kendal Schools Council day.
- CBEC - who worked alongside Gilbert Gilkes in production of a Big book.
- Gilbert, Gilkes and Gordon - worked alongside Year 4 students to understand manufacturing industry.
- Cancer Care Blackhall Road- are visited regularly by our school choir
- The National Trust- for advising us on grounds issues and coming into school to work with the children.
